New Year/ uusi vuosi

This amazing year is about to end soon. I have learned many new things about making dresses but I have also learned new things about myself. Many people has been asking me am I gona keep on doing dresses next year? Definitely yes. How many dresses I will make? I don`t now yet but hopefully more than one :)  Happy New Year everybody! / Upea vuosi loppuu ihan kohta. Olen oppinut paljon uusia asioita mekkojen tekemisestä, mutta  olen myös oppinut uusia asioita itsestäni. Moni on kysellyt minulta jatkanko mekkojen tekemistä tulevaisuudessa? Ehdottomasti kyllä! Kuinka monta mekkoa teen? En tiedä vielä, mutta toivottavasti enemmän kuin yhden :) Hyvää uutta vuotta!

My Last dress is ready! / Viimeinen mekkoni on valmis!

My last dress is sooo ready! We will have a photo shoot session in January! I did it! I managed to do 12 unique dresses during the year 2011! Now merry Christmas to you all! / Viimeinen mekkoni on niiiin valmis! Pidetään kuvaukset heti tammikuun alussa. Toteutin unelmani 12 uniikista mekosta, jotka valmistin vuoden 2011 aikana. Nyt eikun hyvää joulua teille kaikille!

Black ice/Musta jää

It’s six o’clock in the morning. I’m looking down at the still, smooth surface of ice from the stand of the skating park. Soon I’ll be gliding along that shiny ice, gathering speed from one movement and jump to the next. The world around me disappears and only the surface of the ice and my movements on it are important.

Although this memory dates back for over ten years now, I’ve kept the thought of it with me. On ice I’m able to forget about the world around me, and only what I’m doing at that very moment is important.

I asked Aino, a dear friend of mine to model the November Dress. Aino and I used to skate together in the same team in competitions when we were younger. Indeed it had been quite a while from the last time we’d been in the skating rink together. What a thrill it turned out be on the day of the photo shoot to fly over the ice with Aino again! We were so exhilarated by the experience that we managed to talk our Photographer, Dorit Salutskij into joining us on the ice. This was absolutely one of my favourite photo shoots.

So far The November dress has been the easiest of the dresses I’ve made. If I don’t take into the account the burnt fabric, everything went to plan. The dress is simple in design, however the upcoming December Dress might explain why this is so.

I’ve been facing a difficult personal phase recently and coping has been made possible only with the help of my friends. So thank you again my dear friends for supporting me and being there when I needed you. Even during the bad moments, life is worth a celebration with friends,

So my dream coming true is getting closer, it’s only one dress away now. The December dress is coming along nicely, although I’m a bit late from my original plan. I won’t let this concern me too much. My little son, the light of my life needs me more than I need keeping to schedules.

Kello on aamulla kuusi. Istun jäähallin katsomossa, ja tuijotan edessäni siintävää peilityyntä jäätä. Pian luistelen pitkin tuon jään pintaa vauhdikkaasti kuviosta toiseen. Unohdan kaiken muun maailman ympärilläni.

Tästä muistosta on kulunut konkreettisesti jo yli kymmenen vuotta, mutta yhdyn edelleen samaan ajatukseen. Jäällä voin unohtaa muun maailman, ja vain se mitä teen on tärkeää.

Pyysin marraskuun mallikseni ystävääni Ainoa, jonka kanssa luistelimme nuorempana kilpaa samassa joukkueessa. Viime kerrasta jäällä Ainon kanssa olikin vierähtänyt jo tovi.  Olikin ihan uskomaton tunne luistella Ainon kanssa kuvauspäivänä ympäri jäätä. Houkuttelimme myös valokuvaaja Dorit Salutskijin jäälle.  Ehdottomasti yksi suosikki kuvauspäivistäni, joka huipentui rakkaan ystäväni vauvajuhliin.

Marraskuun mekko on ollut ehdottomasti helpoin tähän asti tekemistäni mekoista. Lukuun ottamatta sitä palanutta kangasta, niin hommat sujuivat kuin leikki. Mekko on yksinkertainen, mutta joulukuun mekko selittää ehkä sitten hieman tätä marraskuun mekon ”helppoutta”.

Omassa elämässäni on meneillään juuri nyt rankka vaihe, josta en selviäisi ilman ystävieni apua. En voi siis kuin jälleen kerran kiittää teitä kaikkia ystäviäni saamastani tsempistä ja tuesta! Teette elämästäni juhlaa huonoinakin hetkinä!

Unelmani toteutuminen on siis enää yhden mekon päässä. Viimeinen joulukuun mekko on hyvällä mallilla, vaikka olenkin alkuperäisestä aikataulustani jäljessä. En anna kuitenkaan tämän ajatuksen häiritä minua, sillä pieni poikani, elämäni valo, tarvitsee nyt minua enemmän kuin minä tämän unelmani toteutumista aikataulujen mukaisesti.

November and December/marraskuu ja joulukuu

Today you can finally meet my 11th dress which is called: Aava. My last 12th dress is almost ready too but  we needed to postpone photo shoots to January. / Tänään voitte vihdoinkin tavata yhdennentoista mekkoni, jonka nimi on: Aava. Viimeinen kahdestoista mekkoni on melkein valmis, mutta siirrettiin kuvaukset suosiolla tammikuulle.

A rumor/huhu

I heard a rumor! I´m getting pictures from my 11th (November) dress at the end of this week. I can`t wait to share them with you!/ Kuulin villin huhun, että saan yhdennentoista mekkoni valmiit mekkokuvat tämän viikon loppuun mennessä. Pian siis tekin saatte nähdä ne!!

Diamonds are girl`s best friend

I thought it`s time to put some bling bling on my last dress. I`m using pastes and fake diamonds. / Ajattelin että viimeiseen mekkoon voisi lisätä vähän blingiä. Käytän paljetteja ja melkein aitoja diamonkseja :)

Fixing/ korjailua

My last dress is getting ready.. I just need to fix few things :) / Viimeinen mekkoni valmistuu hyvää vauhtia.. Täytyy vain korjailla pari juttua :)
